St. Michael’s Community Academy
Courtesy. Consideration. Respect.

We provide a vibrant, happy school where children can grow into confident, articulate and tolerant individuals.

We believe that education is preparation for life and we seek to prepare each child to face life beyond the school with confidence.

We aspire to set high standards for personal behaviour and self-discipline, with courtesy, consideration and respect for other people of all ages, races and cultures.

We are concerned with the provision of exciting and quality learning experiences in a safe, secure and happy environment.

We endeavour to achieve high standards in every aspect of school life by making the most efficient use of all the resources available.

British Values

The DfE have recently reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”

The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values have been reiterated this year. At St Michael’s Community Academy these values are reinforced regularly. Find out more by clicking the button below.

Love to Learn

We offer a stimulating and rigorous curriculum which provides the children with lots of opportunities to apply their skills and talents in a range of contexts. Providing exciting and challenging learning experiences enables children to enjoy and achieve their best.

Our curriculum is greatly enhanced through educational visits and visitors, providing the children with first-hand experiences, putting learning into context and making it more meaningful.

Providing High Quality Learning

Our thematic approach to the curriculum provides many opportunities for pupils to access practical learning experiences designed to develop specific skills through drama, art and design and technology. Themed weeks across the school year also provide additional experiences for pupils to focus on the Arts and Design and Technology. Creative achievement is celebrated across the school through our bright, vibrant displays which rightly reflect the level or pride our pupils have in their work.

Our children enjoy high quality P.E. lessons delivered by specialist sports coaches. We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities for pupils to access ranging from sporting clubs, arts clubs, performing arts activities to computing sessions. We have recently been awarded the Gold Schools Games Mark in recognition of our commitment to providing all of our pupils with a wide range of competitive sporting activities.

“I love coming to school to see my Teacher and friends. It’s like a big, massive family.”

St. Bart’s Multi-Academy Trust

We are part of the St. Bart’s Academy Trust which is committed to improving the life chances of children. This moral obligation, our mission, does not end at the school gates, within our own Local Authorities, or even within our own country. Where St. Bart’s Academies have the capacity to make a difference, they are morally bound to do so.

The St. Bart’s Academy Trust believes that education is preparation for life and we seek to prepare each child to face life beyond the School with confidence.

“Our Teachers and Support Staff are committed to delivering the best education possible.”
